Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - 2 Years Experience

Position Summary: The client is seeking an experienced and certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential clinical and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our medical facility. This role requires a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Support:

    • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
    • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the physician.
    • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, and perform basic laboratory tests.
    • Record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, height, and weight.
    • Prepare examination rooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and instruments.
    • Perform EKGs, wound care, and other clinical tasks as required.
    • Assist in minor surgical procedures as needed.

  • Patient Interaction:

    • Greet and escort patients to examination rooms.
    • Obtain and document patient medical histories and current health concerns.
    • Educate patients on treatment procedures, medications, and physician instructions.
    • Address patient inquiries and concerns, providing information and assistance as required.
    • Provide compassionate and patient-centered care.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
    • Process insurance forms and manage billing procedures.
    • Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing emails, and performing data entry.
    • Ensure all patient documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • General Responsibilities:

    • Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
    • Assist with the coordination of patient care among healthcare providers, specialists, and external organizations.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities to maintain certification and enhance skills.
    • Contribute to a positive work environment and collaborate with team members to provide the best patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Certification:

    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting required.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and relevant healthcare regulations.
    • Ability to perform clinical tasks with precision and care.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
    • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a certified medical assistant program.

Work Environment:

  • Clinical environment within a medical facility.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
