Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - Job Description

Position: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Place of Service: In-Center, In-Home/In-School Settings

Work Hours: Daytime, After School, Evening, Weekends (Hours vary depending on client's availability)

Job Summary: As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will work directly with clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders in in-home and in-school settings. The primary responsibility is to implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment plans designed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one ABA therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disorders in their homes or schools.
  • Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans developed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Engage in activities designed to promote skill acquisition and independence in the client.
  • Provide regular feedback to BCBAs on client progress and session outcomes.
  • Participate in training and supervision sessions to enhance skills and maintain RBT credential.
  • Work collaboratively with families and other team members to ensure consistent and effective therapy.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the client, which may include daytime, after-school hours, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients at all times.
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Qualifications:

  • Current RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Experience working with children with ASD or related developmental disorders preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes or schools.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to BACB guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in physical activities with clients, including bending, lifting, and prolonged standing or sitting.
