Overall Responsibility:


Truck and Equipment Maintenance /Repair



Key Tasks and Responsibilities:


¨      Perform preventive maintenance on gas & diesel powered heavy, light and medium duty vehicles

¨      Change tires, analyze electronics on above

¨      Maintain regular and predictable attendance

¨      Performs all assignments as directed

¨      Other duties as assigned

¨      To conduct all operations of maintenance purchasing in a professional manner

 


Skills and Attributes:


¨      Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

¨      Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

¨      Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

¨      Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form

¨      Ability to deal with problems in a calm and rational manner

¨      Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

¨      Ability to back a 40’ trailer into tight areas where pavement may not exist

¨      Ability to qualify for a D.O.T. Medical Card

¨      Ability to pass drug screening


Experience Requirement:


¨      A minimum of two years’ experience with driving tractors and trailers (including low-boy trailers).

¨      A minimum of two years’ experience as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic


Education Requirement:


Certified Mechanic certificate preferred

High School education
