The shop welder performs welding operations in a shop environment. The employee is responsible for ensuring all documentation (drawing, methods & procedures) are complete & at the workstation. The employee will be responsible for layout and fabrication of assigned work. The position may operate a variety of shop equipment and tools. The position may assist other craft workers.

Essential Functions

• MIG, TIG, Stick & Structural Welding

• Plasma Cutter and Torch

• Operate Metal Saw

• Must be able to work in close conjunction with others

• Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures work area each day to eliminate potential hazards

• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the site supervisor

• Operate or tend equipment and machines used in shop manufacturing

• Follow drawings and instructions from team leader and supervisors

• Follow all safety regulations

• Abide by all personal protective equipment rules and guidelines as set by APS, Inc. and their customers.
