As the Assistant Manager, you'll use your leadership skills, clear communication, and in-depth knowledge of our equipment and park to create a fun and secure environment. You'll assist in supervising park rangers, scheduling staff, handling payroll, and ensuring staff development. Daily responsibilities include safety inspections, quality control, equipment management, and guest education.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all park operations including supervision of park rangers when manager is not present.
  • Assist manager in staff scheduling, payroll and other essential administrative tasks.
  • Assist manager in carrying out internal staff development, including regular staff assessment, training, and disciplinary concerns.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads staff and supervises other Park staff members to meet the operational objectives of the Aerial Adventure Park operation.
  • Performs daily morning course inspections and safety protocols including completing required written logs.
  • Carries out quality control and risk management ensuring staff adhere to company operating procedures and guidelines
  • In charge of maintaining records of all guest and staff equipment including inventory, inspection,s and maintenance. May involve working with outside vendors in equipment repair.
  • Conducts pre-course informative safety talk and assists guests with proper harnessing procedures and safety training.
  • Fits harnesses for guests and supervises the guest's use of all personal safety equipment during park use.
  • Assesses each guest’s ability to use the park after completing ground school.
  • Educates guests on the natural surroundings and history of A-Basin at appropriate intervals of guest’s experience in the park.
  • Engages with guests on the course, encouraging and verbally assisting guests as they travel through the course.
  • Works at heights with the use of fall protection.
  • After required training, understands and performs course rescue operations in accordance with training manuals and guidelines including stabilizing, moving, and lowering of participants.
  • Interacts closely with guest services, summer patrol, base area, and all other A-Basin operations to provide a quality guest experience.
  • Maintains equipment including inventory, daily inspections, and proper storing as well as course and facility maintenance.

Requirements:

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirements:

  • Previous ropes, zipline, high ropes or adventure course experience
  • Previous team leadership experience
  • Previous customer service experience and passion to engage with people.
  • Must successfully complete required, site-specific training course(s).

Skills Required:

  • Strong verbal communication skills required for guest and co-worker interactions.
  • Strong public speaking ability and comfortability with large groups.
  • Adept at problem solving to quickly identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to guide and teach people through an experience. - required to demonstrate these skills during interview process.

Physical Requirements:

  • This role requires you to lift a significant portion of your own body weight while climbing and balancing on obstacles up to 70 feet in the air.
  • Use full range of body motion: bend, twist, kneel, push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for 8 hours.
  • Withstand high altitude conditions at all times.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Work Environment:

  • You will work almost 100% of the time outdoors in a high-altitude environment. Most work is performed in a highly trafficked area in view of guests. A very frequent amount of high-volume guest interaction is involved in this role. Exposure to heights is very frequent. Physically engaging with guests in rescue or other applicable situations is required.
