The Role:

The engineering project manager will be responsible for coordinating and assisting in the development of the next-generation spatial genomics platform, with the ultimate goal of bringing such platforms successfully to the market. The Company is currently developing a spatial omics platform that includes reagents, and consumables, instrumentation, and analysis software as part of a commercial product launch. The candidate will work cross-functionally within Vizgen with particular emphasis on all aspects of engineering activities from design, implementation, platform integration, NPI and manufacturing transfer. The candidate shall work with other project managers in other functional areas and shall have an excellent track-record of multi-disciplinary problem-solving skills and inter-personal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coordinate, and participate in cross-functional team activities that drive completion of the Company’s R&D projects.
  • Furthermore, standardizing and implementing processes for commercial readiness through Vizgen phase gate process.
  • Deploy TRL methodology and PDR and CDR product development related to instrumentation to meet milestones related to various platform level engineering activities.
  • Adopting PDP process in design, development, verification, and validation of next-gen spatial genomics LST/Dx platforms.
  • Identify risks and create mitigation plans for each of the R&D project goals.
  • Manage and/or create documentation as needed to support design, development, changes, manufacturing, and SOP’s.
  • Organize system level integration testing and reporting and drive milestone-based timelines.
  • Support development and compliance of the company’s quality system and processes including implementation of documentation control system and ERP systems.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in education in any engineering discipline such as opto-mechanical instrumentation and scientific consumable engineering, automation, system and platform development, manufacture engineering, bio-medical engineering.
  • Experiences related to PMP, Agile or Scrum methodology are preferred.
  • Work experiences in the following areas are highly beneficial, but not essential: biomedical engineering, bioimaging, genomics, sequencing, tissue sample preparation, oligonucleotide-based chemistries, and fluorescent-based imaging systems.
  • 2-6 years of work experience in project management in R&D product development, NPI and manufacturing transfer in the scientific and engineering tool industry for biological research and clinical development.
  • We emphasize inter-disciplinary engineering expertise which most likely be gained through past working experiences, such as instrumentation, SW, scientific consumable plastics engineering, reagent, manufacturing, and its automation engineering,
  • Excellent track record and experience in scientific instruments and tool development, NPI and commercialization is highly preferred.
