We offer sports programs for boys and girls ages 3-14 in todays most popular sports like flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball and t-ball.

About the Job
The i9 Sports Flag Football Instructor/Official is responsible for enhancing the overall experience for the i9 Sports Flag Football program. The Instructor/Official will officiate programs for age groups between 5-14 years old. The Flag Football Instructor/Official will assist our volunteer coaches each week to ensure a positive, dynamic, and effective instructional experience is delivered. The position entails hands-on involvement with practices and games among all age groups and skills levels.

Instructor/Official Shifts are weekends only with shifts available on Saturday and/or Sunday. Our venues are located across Leesburg, Ashburn, South Riding, Reston, Fairfax, Vienna, and Annandale/Falls Church. Venue options will be discussed based on applicants location.

Sept 7th to Oct 27th - Fall League

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruction and Skill Development:
    • Teach young athletes the fundamental skills and techniques of Flag Football.
    • Implement age-appropriate drills and exercises to enhance players' Flag Football abilities (Practice plans created and provided by i9 Sports).
    • Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their performance.
    • Complete mandatory pre season training sessions (Financially Compensated)
  • Game Officiating:
    • Serve as an official for youth Flag Football games, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules.
    • Maintain a professional and unbiased demeanor while officiating games.
    • Address rule violations and conflicts with fairness and diplomacy.
  • Safety and Supervision:
    • Ensure the safety of all participants during practices & games.
    • Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
    • Address any safety concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, participants, and fellow staff members.
    • Provide updates on program activities via Connecteam.
    • Address questions, concerns, and feedback from parents and participants professionally.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience coaching or playing Flag Football.
  • Knowledge of Flag Football rules and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents.
  • A passion for youth sports and the development of young athletes.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Availability to work each weekend of the given season Spring, Summer, etc.)
  • Ability to efficiently solve problems
  • Ability to motivate and manage others (i.e. coaches)
  • Extremely reliable and responsible
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass background check
