Job Title: Ambulatory Driver

Reports to: Site Supervisor

Shift: Flexibility between standard operating hours of 7am and 5pm

EMT serves organizations throughout the Tri-State area. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride.

Job Responsibilities

· Safely transport passengers to and from their destinations in a timely manner.

· Conduct vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safe operation; report any maintenance or repair needs.

· Maintain accurate transport records, including times and passenger information, adhering to all HIPAA regulations.

· Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle and adhere to predefined routes and schedules.

· Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding patient pick-up and drop-off.

· Ensure the vehicle is clean and sanitized.

· Handle any emergency situations or passenger needs during transport in accordance with company policies and procedures.

· Participate in ongoing training and certification programs required by the employer or state regulations.

· Collaborate with Student Monitor to ensure safe and compassionate transportation of passengers.

Requirements:

Requirements

  • Valid Maryland or Pennsylvania Class “C” or West Virginia Class “D” or higher driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination, criminal background check and drug screening
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Punctuality and reliability in attending scheduled shifts
  • Patience and empathy towards patients with mental or physical disabilities
  • Ability to document transport details accurately and submit reports as required

Preferences

  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to assist passengers in transferring from seated to seated or lying to seated positions safely.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Experience in healthcare or patient transport (preferred)
  • Familiarity with GPS and navigation systems
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety protocols
