Madison County Memorial Hospital (MCMH) is a critical access hospital.  It is also a hospital district facility, which is a quasi-government hospital whose board is appointed by the Governor of Florida.  It operates twenty-five inpatient beds.  MCMH generates approximately $19,000,000 in revenue each year and employs about 100 full-time staff.

MCMH is located about five miles north of Interstate-10, approximately 50 miles east of Tallahassee, Florida.  Madison is the county seat of a county with a population of approximately 20,000.  The county’s economic base is agriculture, State correctional facility, school district, local government and small retail.

Job Description

Responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, management, and monitoring of an effective and on-going Emergency Department Program.

Responsible to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of patient care within the Emergency Department.

Responsible for the research, revision, development, implementation, and enforcement of policies and procedures for nursing clinical areas.  

Responsible for Nursing Clinical Information Technology in the ED.

Responsible for staffing and scheduling of the ED.  

Responsible for working in vacant nursing positions or act as charge RN to assist where and when needed. 

Responsible for excellent communications and management of resources and upholding excellent clinical standards of care.  

Qualifications

  1. Three years supervisory experience in hospital nursing
  2. An associate degree in nursing required; a bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
  3. Minimum 5 years Registered Nurse experience
  4. CPR, ACLS, and PALS required.
  5. A solid understanding of the concepts of skilled nursing, quality improvement and Emergency nursing standards
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  7. Excellent computer skills
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with people at all socio-economic and organizational levels.
  9. A hands-on approach to management duties.
