GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of the Human Resources/ Recruitment Specialist will be to lead, direct, develop, implement, and manage the recruitment and onboarding process. The Human Resources Recruitment Specialist will be working in partnership with managers and supervisors to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions to attract a diverse pool of qualified talent to the organization. Will support the Human Resources Department with the day-to-day administrative tasks by conducting orientations, monitoring training records, attendance records, scheduling appointments, safety items, and keeping employee records and information up to date. In this position, you will perform duties of a highly confidential nature that require discretion and judgment, as well as a broad and comprehensive knowledge of HR functions including safety, the company’s policies, and operations. May act as backup for HR/Payroll Specialist, with activities such as, wage slipping, step progressions, and other leave and benefit-related items.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to determine the top candidates for further interviews or final selection and makes recommendations based on the evaluation process.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Track hiring metrics including time-to-hire, time-to-fill, and source of hire.
  • Design, distribute, and measure the results of candidate experience.
  • Train and advise hiring managers on the use and coding of the recruitment database, interviewing techniques and assessment methods.
  • Attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Analyze recruitment software and the performance of recruitment agencies and recommend improvements or changes.
  • Guide candidates through the recruitment progress in the HRIS database.
  • Ensures all new hires have a smooth transition into the organization after orientation.
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating, enhancing, and developing the new hire/orientation PowerPoint presentation.
  • Gather, process, verify, and maintain employee files throughout the department from pre-employment to post-termination as requested.
  • Participates, attends/leads safety committee meeting and willingness to investigate incidents.
  • Responsible for the collection, tracking, data inputting, and filing of employee core comps.
  • Provides departmental support by answering phones, faxing, photocopying, entering data, formatting, printing information, organizing work, maintaining supplies, and relaying messages.
  • Ensures all up-to-date legal postings are placed in a designated area within established timeframes.
  • Ensures all required onboarding paperwork is up to date and within legal compliance.
  • Handles incoming and outgoing mail distribution in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the delivery of handout material, creating visual aids, and preparing presentations when necessary.
  • Provide first-class customer service and support to employees, visitors, and customers.
  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling meetings, events, employee lunches, interviews, etc.
  • Handles other duties and special projects as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook).
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills to ensure consistency with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and/or laws.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and get things done in a timely manner while treating others and themselves with respect and dignity.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Follow through with projects from start to completion.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have the ability to stay focused in an extremely active/open office environment.
  • Some safety and working compensation experience and or willingness to learn more.
  • Reliable and willing to work occasional weekends/holidays as required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

EDUCATION/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of two years of HR experience
  • Previous responsibility with onboarding, recruitment, and safety is a plus.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
