A Packline Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for carrying out various maintenance tasks. They install and inspect machines and electrical equipment and carry out preventive maintenance to ensure that industrial machines remain operational.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
  • Identifies sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantles machinery and removes and replaces defective parts.
  • Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
  • Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.


Requirements:

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, overtime, double-time, and holidays throughout our pack season (May to September); this is critical to support the needs of the business and is subject to change.


Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Packline maintenance, troubleshooting, and groundskeeping experience preferred.


Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Professional forklift certification is strongly preferred but not required

Language

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required

Skills

  • Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of system maintenance.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.
  • Skilled in analyzing information and creating reports.
  • Ability to lift to 40+ pounds, as many packages are large.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and working primarily standing.
  • Experience using a forklift preferred but not required.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
