Joint Planner / Strategist (Technology Integrator)

Location: Miami, FL

Overview: The Joint Planner / Strategist (Technology Integrator) Senior enhances USSOUTHCOM's strategic capabilities in science, technology, and innovation (ST&I). This role is crucial for advancing the strategic objectives outlined in the USSOUTHCOM Campaign Plan and guided by the Joint Requirements Validation Board. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of experience, an MA/MS degree, and the ability to perform independently on high-visibility, mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Enhancement:
    • Enhance USSOUTHCOM's strategic ST&I capabilities.
    • Represent mission needs at military and IT conferences.
    • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption.
  • Planning and Analysis:
    • Analyze alternatives for strategic and operational planning.
    • Adapt strategies to evolving Federal and DoD security standards.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Create and lead working groups with industry, academia, and mission partners.
    • Foster meaningful participation and collaboration in exploring innovative technologies.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare agendas, document feedback, and deliver white papers with recommendations.
    • Disseminate approved ST&I concepts for exercises and operations.
  • Partnership Development:
    • Identify cost-effective technologies and foster ST&I partnerships.
    • Become a preferred partner for capability experiments.
    • Form and maintain research partnerships to support the Command's objectives.
  • Knowledge Dissemination:
    • Provide relevant ST&I knowledge to stakeholders.
    • Write and present white papers to promote collaborative technology initiatives.
  • Representation:
    • Represent USSOUTHCOM at various DoD conferences and events.
    • Promote collaborative technology initiatives to enhance mission capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Experience and Education:
    • Over 10 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, technology integration, or a related field.
    • MA/MS degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Strategic Studies).
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proven ability to perform all functional duties independently.
    • Experience overseeing and guiding the efforts of less senior staff.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt to evolving security standards.
    • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in preparing strategic documents and delivering presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with DoD or other Federal agencies.
  • Knowledge of USSOUTHCOM's strategic objectives and operational environment.
  • Familiarity with the Joint Requirements Validation Board processes.
