Title: Metrology Technician
Duration: Vendor 
Location: Redmond, WA

Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week 

Role:
• Rapidly assess the feasibility of optics technologies using existing metrology infrastructure and methodologies.
• Collaborate with various engineering teams to fulfill measurement and data processing requirements.
• Hands-on utilization of current metrology equipment, development of novel methods and hardware, and modification of existing processes and pipelines.
• Prepping Samples to Test/validate innovative optical structures, manufacturing processes, and technologies for manufacturability, performance, and visual quality.
• Measure and report on material properties using existing metrology tools.

Skills: 
• At least 2 years of experience in optical process, data analysis, metrology systems, preferably involving optics or optical components.
• Familiarity with new process development, and process qualification methodologies.
• Knowledgeable about statistical analysis, functional dimensioning, and common optical quality parameters (MTF, contrast, optical aberrations, surface form, and roughness).
• Understanding of multiple optical element assembly and alignment, including linear and angular adjustment, and common measurement methods in subassemblies.
• Proficient in using common optical metrology instruments and techniques (interferometry, spectrophotometer, OMM).
• Familiarity with light polarization principles and corresponding measurement methods.
• Skilled in evaluating and developing new technology capabilities with external vendors.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams, including domestic and international vendors.
• Background working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Physics, Mechanical, Systems, Industrial, Optical, or Materials.

Salary range for this position is $32/hr to $38/hr (Equivalent to 64k to 76k). Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
