Job DescriptionJob Description

The Lead Audiovisual Technician reports to the A/V Project Manager and will work alongside the project manager and designer to implement A/V plans in a commercial setting in conjunction with other departments (e.g., structured cabling). The ideal applicant will be a self-motivated professional with knowledge of standard construction procedures, industry practices, and interpreting design from construction drawings. The A/V Tech will be expected to quickly become familiar with ongoing projects and work efficiently to ensure that projects are completed on-time and under budget.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively organize project communications, deliverables, and workflow.
  • Organize all project communication and documentation produced during project.
  • Organize and document all project material and deliverables created as part of the project.
  • Organize and monitor project milestones to assist in proper schedule management.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate with BryComm PM on manpower and material needs
  • Communicate with clients/customers
  • Communicate with other trades on jobsite
  • Monitor project schedule and milestones and provide progress updates as needed.
  • Attend internal and external project meetings both in person and virtually
  • Advanced industry/manufacturer certifications/trainings, examples include: Forte Trainings, Audinate/Dante Levels 1-3, QSYS Level 2, Crestron 101
  • In depth understanding of audio concepts: Audio DSP configuration, System tuning, SHURE level 2
  • High level troubleshooting of Layer 2 issues: Networking, IP Conflicts, Firewalls, Routing
  • Ability to track and document red line drawings.
  • Commissioning and troubleshooting of audio systems.
  • Master level knowledge and performance of tasks
  • Proficient in Plan Grid and other construction related software.
  • Knowing and willingness to push back on other trades in an effective and professional level.
  • Ability to resolve conflict both internal and external.
  • Ability to create a team atmosphere.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of A/V experience
  • Strong programming background
  • Certifications in QSC, Biamp, Crestron, and Extron.
  • InfoComm CTS certification
  • OSHA-30 (or willingness to obtain upon start)
  • Advanced industry/manufacturer certifications/trainings, examples include: Forte Trainings,
  • Familiarity with MS office suite and other software suites applicable to the role including but not limited to: MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, Bluebeam
  • Ability to test and commission control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Ability to forecast material for upcoming projects
  • Ability to maintain accurate redlines and as-builts
  • Experience working primarily from technical drawings, diagrams, and work orders
  • Ability to configure, load firmware, and set IP addresses on network devices
  • Willingness to submit a drug screen and background check
  • Positive attitude and excellent work ethic
  • Reliable transportation
  • Familiarity with industry standards
  • Availability and willingness to work nights or weekends as needed
  • Ability to maintain quality of work and professionalism under stressful deadlines
  • Strong troubleshooting experience
  • Extremely computer proficien
