POSITION SUMMARY: This staff will conduct grant research and grant writing activities including a detailed review of requirements, internal and external data research, writing narratives, and coordinating with internal and external parties to complete the applications. Assist with supervision of department volunteers.


POSTION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Masters in public health, Social Work, or related disciplines preferred, or equivalent work experience with a focus on grant writing. Bachelor's degree required.


Experience:

  1. Two (2) years as grant writer, data research and analysis.
  2. Minimum (1) year of experience in a health care or social services setting.

Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly, associated with this position:

  1. Strong computer skills including the use of word processing, spreadsheets, database maintenance, and email software.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Excellent oral and verbal communication skills including preparation and presentation of meaningful narrative reports.
  4. Able to work with people with diverse backgrounds.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

  1. Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
  2. Coordinate the development of grant proposals with participation of internal team members and community partners as needed.
  3. Conduct internal and external data research and analysis.
  4. Draft grant proposal narratives and supporting documents based on the scope needs, team-based plans and funding requirements of the organization while meeting the funders' guidelines.
  5. Draft letters of support, prepare graphs, charts, displays, and spreadsheets.
  6. Ensure that goals, budgets, letters of support and other aspects of proposals are synergistic and completed on time.
  7. Completes on-line and paper application forms required for grant applications according to funder's requirements.
  8. Maintain, monitor, and update benchmark internal and external data.
  9. Perform administrative functions for department volunteers.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions:

  1. Attend staff and organization meetings as needed.
  2. Serve on committees as requested.
  3. Represent Affinia Healthcare in the community and make presentations as requested.
