Duties and Responsibilities include:
. Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
. Scheduling, maintaining add calendaring all files
. Preparing letters, documents, and case evaluations summaries; thoroughly
proofreading for errors in grammar, spelling, and formatting.
. Maintain case files and organize documents
. Accurately maintain attorney's calendar with important dates.
. Answering telephones (back up to receptionist as needed).
. State and Administrative Court e-filings.
. Opening, sorting, and scanning all assigned attorney mail as well as sending out all
correspondence and handling as needed.
. Reserve court reporters and video reports for depositions.
. Assist with answering discovery with client.
. Communicating with clients and or potential clients.
. Arrange for service of process on parties and witnesses.
. Request, order, track and download medical/other records for litigated matters.
. Summarize medical reports.
. Adhere to all firm processes and procedures following all checklists and cheat sheets.
Qualifications and Skills:
. Prefer experience as a Legal Secretary. However, this is not a requirement.
. Effective problem-solving skills.
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities.
. Strong typing and computer skills, including MS Word and./or Wordperfect.
. Understanding of Mycase management software or similar (will train).
. Serve as Notary Public (not a requirement prior to employment).
. Strong client service skills, including compassion and empathy.
Ability to both follow instructions and think independently .
. Ability to multitask.
. Personable on phone interaction with clients, attorneys and experts.
. Proficient on computer, internet, required software and e-mail.
. Ability to develop trust in clients and team members.
. Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented work environment.
. Any experience working with a company that sales or manages vehicle insurance
would be a plus.
