Our large manufacturing client located in Rapid City, South Dakota, is looking for a Mechanical Drafter, to add to their team.

Summary: The position will be working with the various electrical teams to design and model electrical harness, components, and modify schematics. The position will also be responsible for detailing the design and working with suppliers potentially.


Skills: • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability. • Team player and detail oriented. • Experienced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in harness design, routing and schematics. Ability to design supporting brackets and clipping areas. • Experienced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. • Experienced knowledge of relevant computer application, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting).


Typical task breakdown:

  • Participate in receiving and tracking of engineering request for specific electrical harness and supporting brackets needed for a given job, balancing multiple jobs and timelines associated with them • Adhering to all of our client's standards and specifications as required • Assist in design, modeling, detailing and supplier collaboration

Interaction with team:

  • Individual will work closely with team members and project lead to identify workload priorities, changes in work requirements, updates to governing standards, and customer needs.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Minimum of associates degree required
  • 2-5 Years experience

Technical Skills

(Required)

  • Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office base programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Proficiency with CADD program

(Desired)

  • Electrical Experience

Soft Skills

(Required)

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to the frequent priority shifts of changing business demand
