Electrician

The Electrician will install and maintain the electrical wiring, fixtures, systems and machinery in buildings.

• Diagnose electrical problems using diagrams or blueprints.
• Install and repair electrical systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and conduct tests.
• Pinpoint problems using a range of testing devices.
• Safely use various hand and power tools.

• Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Comply with all safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code.
• Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, machinery and fixtures in buildings.
• Install conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
• Ensure piping complies with electrical codes.
• Install circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
• Connect electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building.
• Test electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
• Inspect electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
• Replace conduit and wiring as needed.
• Replace circuit breakers as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions and schematics.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid electrician’s license required.

• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
• Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.​​​​​​​
