Accountant III - Fixed Assets and Leasing

Division: Finance

Job Purpose:

The Accountant III – Fixed Assets & Leasing is a critical role responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role will serve as the organizations subject matter expert on fixed asset and lease accounting and will be expected to handle all request in their area of responsibility independently during the annual financial audit.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain fixed asset additions and disposals in the company’s ERP system

• Determine proper accounting treatment under US GAAP and company policy for submitted CAPEX requests

• Maintain tagging of tangible assets

• Maintain lease accounting records in visual lease, reconcile them to the GL and prepare adjusting entries as required

• Prepare monthly closing entries and balance sheet reconciliations

• Prepare quarterly Capex report (spend vs budget)

• Assist with year-end closing process and drafting of financial statements, including roll-forwards and footnotes related to fixed assets and company leases under ASC 842

• Assist with external and internal audits

• Primary contact for property tax related questions

• Document accounting processes and procedures

• Assist with budget/forecast, insurance renewals and tax filings

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate preferred

• 5-7 years of experience in fixed asset and lease accounting

• Experience with lease software like Visual Lease or similar

• Effective communicator with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization

• Attention to detail, adaptable in dynamic environments

• Experience with accounting systems, like Epicor, SAP, Oracle

• Excellent MS 365 skills, especially Excel
