What Does a Stocker/Load Builder Do?

  • Assist with moving product throughout the yard
  • Pull materials from racks, units, or other storage areas to prepare for pick-up or shipment
  • Build loads and load trucks for outbound delivery
  • Band/organize material to ensure safe forklift handling and delivery/arrival
  • Remove lumber from units and place boards in rack, according to grade and lengths
  • Safety load lumber and building materials into appropriate bins or storage locations
  • Assist with inventory control
  • Remove defective and damaged lumber from racks
  • Assist customers with loading of lumber and building materials
  • Maintain good working relationships with customers, vendors, fellow associates, and management
  • Maintain the appearance of the yard and racks
  • Plays a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service
  • Processes customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash and distributes change as requested; processes
  • voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges as needed
  • Proactively seeks out customers, assesses their needs, and provides assistance, including educating customers on
  • products, guidance on product selection
  • Provides first level escalation for customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Models customer service best practices – customer engagement and attention to detail is critical to this role
  • Maintain the appearance of the sales floor and stock areas, and helps keep the store clean
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers
  • Additional duties and other tasks as assigned


What Does It Take to Be Successful as a Stocker/Load Builder?

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 Years of Age
  • Ability to work a compressed work schedule; four days on, three days off
  • Forklift Certification preferred
  • 6 months + previous building material experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75lbs consistently and bend, twist, squat and reach throughout work shift
  • Results-oriented with ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
  • Strong interpersonal skills with willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills



Ideal candidates will have open availability to work the following schedule. If candidates have schedule limitations, they should provide those details to the hiring manager during the interview process.

4 days on and 3 days off
Must be available to work weekends
