Are you passionate about Energy Efficiency Projects in Highly Impacted Communities?

You have an opportunity to support residential community outreach efforts to promote electric energy efficiency programs in Utah and southern Idaho. We are seeking a candidate living in the greater Salt Lake City metro area with ability to reach and network with homeowners through a various mix of community events. Must be willing to live in the territory and travel around Utah and southern Idaho. Seeking a candidate that is willing to be a team player and fill in for various roles as they are needed.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Experience in engaging with hard-to-reach, undeserved and rural communities.
  • Ability to train/educate customers on energy efficiency opportunities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-starter who is highly detail oriented, organized and goal-focused.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable to process and procedural changes for application processes/offerings.
  • Ability to engage with co-workers in a virtual environment, with an emphasis on connecting with remote field staff.
  • Background in energy efficient technologies preferred, but not required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Regular visits to retail customers, engaging with associates, and ensuring proper placement of point-of-purchase materials.
  • Weekend event coverage as needed in Utah and Idaho.
  • Connecting and training with an outreach specialist to promote energy efficiency programs to retail and HVAC contractors.
  • Following up with customers who participated in the residential efficiency program to gain feedback.


Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with community members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to coordinate with event staff and or business contacts.
  • Open to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an accredited 2-year or 4-year educational program.
  • Use of databases for reports and accurate data-entry.
  • Previous experience working in a virtual environment is helpful but not required.

   

Physical Efforts:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods at a computer; data entry, proficient typing.
  • Speak/hear; provide clear, accurate communication and hear a telephone.
  • Driving up to 3-4 hours on paved/unpaved roads.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push and carry up to 50 lbs.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Dependable transportation along with verifiable insurance.
  • Drug test; must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Pre-employment background check.
