Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing the accounting activities for Treaty Oak’s renewable energy projects and corporate entities. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the company's financial commitments are met and that management and internal stakeholders have access to timely, accurate financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and completely in accordance with GAAP and that the books are closed each Period on a timely basis

.• Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and team members across the organization.

• Continuously improve accounting, reporting, cash management, and financial planning systems, processes, and policies.

• Ensure accurate recording of A/P, A/R, and inventory transactions in NetSuite.

• Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices across all departments

.• Assist with the preparation and completion of financial reports.

• Participate in the monthly closing process

.• Perform account reconciliation for significant balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow accounts

• Effectively maintain the General Ledger, and partner with other departments to ensure the integrity of the financial records across entities.

• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices

.• Prepare analyses of accounts and produce monthly reports

.• Assist in preparing the month-end financial reporting packages.

• Support external and internal audits as needed.

• Maintain consistent accounting practices, policies, and procedures across all business units.

• Assist with automating and streamlining the preparation of financial statements and management reports in NetSuite and Excel.

• Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures

.• Comply with local, state, and federal government requirements.

• Coordinate with FP&A in the preparation and analysis of budgets and quarterly financial forecasts, including report variances.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

.• 2+ years of experience in accounting.

• GAAP accounting experience is required.

• NetSuite, or similar accounting ERP experience is required.

• Cash accounting & management experience.

• Certified public accountant (CPA) is a plus.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

• Experience in construction/project-oriented operating environment would be an asset.

• Renewable energy experience would be an asset.
