Compassion Church, Dickson is located in Dickson, Tn, just 35 miles west of Nashville. Compassion Church is an exciting and thriving church that passionately loves God and people. We strive to lead kids, youth and adults into the presence of God through worship experiences, community within c-Groups and through opportunities to serve on our Dream Team.

Student Directors direct / create a midweek experience for students 6th-12th grade. The Director leads ministry coordinators, leaders and volunteers to pastor and care for students, and participate in community and school involvement. They also lead their student ministry to corporate youth events and camp during the year. We at Compassion Church are a part of a network of churches (Compassion Network) that work together to help create the best youth ministry experience we can offer. The Student Director will collaborate with other Student Directors with-in their region to learn from one another, create sermon series, and will also receive leadership training from a Regional Director.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide oversight of junior and senior high students and student staff. Assure youth groups maintain a balanced program of spiritual, physical, and social growth. Weekly attendance of actual meetings is not expected to accomplish this task.

· Be acquainted with personal lives of the young people (either directly or through the "Student Staff"). For example, visit homes, attend school events, and make hospital visits. This also includes being aware of current student development and culture.

· Foster open communication with parents/guardians primarily through student staff, or by other means of communication.

· Assure every youth activity focuses entirely on building mature youth of the church.

· Assure training and regular involvement of students in church ministry.

· Assures proper care of facilities used by student programs
