Job Description Summary

The primary objective of this position is to receive, analyze and repair RMAs in a timely manner, monitoring trends, provide reporting data . Position will also support the production line, repairing PCAs, building PCA’s, as well as a mixture of hardware & software tasks within the manufacturing department. Additionally, tech will interact with the engineering department for EPR and MPR activities. Responsibilities include maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electronic-, electrical, and computer-based equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process field failures, documenting results and tracking trends to improve manufacturing process
  • Troubleshoot and repair PCAs to component level
  • Troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment including computers, test jigs and fixtures.
  • Be constantly looking for ways to improve the effectiveness of the team
  • Perform rework modifications
  • End Of Line support both in house and at vendor location
  • Perform 1st Article testing on all incoming PCAs for WeatherTrak product
  • Occasional travel may be required

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with electronics and PC operating systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of electronic components and circuits.
  • Ability to apply electronic principles and analytical skills in troubleshooting complex circuits to the component level
  • Proficient in working from schematics and engineering documentation, test procedures and specifications
  • Experience setting up and utilizing various types of test equipment.
  • Fine pitch/SMT ROHS soldering and circuit board rework skills
  • Must be computer proficient
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • 2-year degree or equivalent in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or 2 years work experience in a related field

Travel by air or car up to 75% of the time and will be required to drive safely for long distances.
  • Work Environment includes exposure to or working in or around moving cars, trucks, forklifts, equipment and machinery including a computer keyboard and mouse; uneven ground; excessive noise; extremes in temperature, humidity, or wetness; dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals; venomous insects and animals, heights; operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement; use of special visual or auditory protective equipment. May be required to work outdoors in an agricultural crop field, assist in putting out demonstration plots, wear respirator and other personal protection equipment.
