Do you enjoy making delicious treats? We are looking for a passionate baker to prepare wonderful baked goods according to recipes and production specifications. You will bake items that will delight our customers with their taste. Must be comfortable in moving around the bakery and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and baking techniques is important. Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food is always delivered.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00am - 1:30pm

Full-time Employees: We offer competitive wages starting at $18.00 to $20.00 per hour based on experience plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, 401(k), and Fresh Food Discounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets; assists in production planning to meet daily requirements.
  • Ensures proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment.
  • Assists with the completion of production records to include waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages; informs supervisor when supplies are low.
  • Ensures proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
  • Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area.
  • Handles foods items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service.
  • Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
  • Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed.
  • Completes shift work, as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards.
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, sanitized, and safe work environment.

Cook Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Strong passion and motivation to create great food.
  • Previous baking experience a plus. Will to train right candidate.
  • General baking knowledge of basic bakery and kitchen practices, protocols and procedures.
  • Understanding of typical baking units of measure, accurately perform mathematics and recipe conversion calculations.
  • Must be able to work with heat or high temperature.
  • Ability to work safely with large volume baking equipment including but not limited to large quantity mixer, robot coupe, and convection ovens.
  • Possess safe knife handling skills.
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
  • Reliable attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Stand, talk, hear, taste and smell.
  • Must be able to stand up for eight (8) hours at a time.
  • Walk; use hands or fingers: stoop, kneel, or crouch; reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read recipes, write, understand, and speak Basic English to perform essential duties of the position and the ability to communicate with co-workers.
