St Paul Rheumatology is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team. This position's primary location will be at our Eagan location, with occasional coverage at our Roseville location as needed.

This approach drives everything we do, including our progressive approach to medication and aggressive pursuit of cutting-edge treatments for rheumatoid arthritis and autoimmune diseases. Our growing practice has two locations in the twin cities in Eagan and Roseville.


Duties:

• Deliver high quality and efficient patient care services including rooming patients, collecting patient history, documenting visit content, relaying instructions to patients/families, and communicating pertinent clinical information.
• Provide direct assistance to physician with medical procedures such as ultrasounds, injections, bone density scans, MRI’s and other procedures as necessary.
• Administer biologic and other injections.
• Submit medication refill requests, prior authorizations and appeals.
• Perform lab draws, triage phone calls, review results management, enter and create patent lab orders, process specimens and prepare for shipment daily.
• Prepare exam rooms for daily activities i.e. clean, organize and stock rooms with necessary supplies, turn on medical/equipment, etc.
• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards
• Order lab supplies, and schedule lab appointments when necessary.


Necessary Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school.
• If not certified, must have medical assistant diploma
• Must have Phlebotomy experience.
• Prior medical assistant experience in clinic setting.
• Demonstrated ability or experience in patient flow management, medical assisting, and confidential management of patient health information.
• Ability to multi-task and to provide services to patients in a warm, professional manner.
• Electronic Health Record experience; must be comfortable with technology.
• Must be proficient using a computer and computer systems.
