Job Title: Shipping Operator

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Shipping Operator to join our team in Friendswood, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely shipment of goods, maintaining inventory levels, and coordinating with various departments to meet customer demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate shipping equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move materials and products to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers.
  • Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Inspect shipments for damage or defects; report discrepancies or damage to management.
  • Coordinate and schedule shipments with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Maintain organized records of goods shipped, received, or in transit.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding shipping, transportation, and logistics.
  • Assist in inventory control and management, including cycle counting and reconciliation.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts and other shipping equipment; valid forklift operator certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate warehouse machinery safely.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of shipping and logistics regulations and practices.
