Position: Business Analyst
Location: Blue ash, OH
Duration: 3 Months

Years of Relevant Experience: 10 to 14 years

Preferred Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent and IIBA-certified Business Analyst.

Role Description:

The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in facilitating workshops, gathering and analyzing requirements, and developing comprehensive business, functional, user, and quality-of-service requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in formal requirements gathering methodologies and be adept at using different techniques and frameworks such as waterfall, agile, or hybrid approaches. This role demands strong organizational and writing skills, as well as the ability to create detailed workflows and graphic representations of complex business processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Workshops & Requirements Analysis:

    • Conduct and facilitate workshops for requirements analysis using different techniques and frameworks (waterfall, agile, hybrid).
    • Use formal notation such as Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) to create workflows.

  • Requirements Development:

    • Develop Business Requirements: Create project initiation documents detailing needed achievements and quality measures.
    • Develop Functional Requirements: Specify what the system, process, or product/service must do to fulfill business requirements.
    • Develop User (Stakeholder) Requirements: Interpret and document the needs of stakeholders, influencing product design, development, and test case formulation.
    • Develop Quality-of-Service (Non-Functional) Requirements: Support functionality with requirements such as performance, scalability, quality of service (QoS), security, and usability.
    • Develop Report Specifications: Define report purposes, justifications, attributes, columns, owners, and runtime parameters.
    • Develop Requirements Traceability Matrix: Maintain a cross matrix for recording requirements through each stage of the requirements gathering process.

  • Technical Specialties:

    • Demonstrate proven experience with a technical specialty across large and complex systems implementations.
    • Develop graphic representations of complex business processes.
Required Skills and Certifications:
  • Technical Specialty Experience: Proven experience across large and complex system implementations (10 years).
  • IIBA Certification: Demonstrates expertise and adherence to best practices in business analysis (10 years).
  • Agile Framework & Project Management Concepts: Proficient in agile methodologies and project management principles (10 years).
  • Scrum Master Certification & ITIL 4 Certification: Certified Scrum Master and ITIL 4 certified, showcasing strong capabilities in agile and IT service management (10 years).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Formal Requirements Gathering Methodologies: Proficient in developing various types of requirements and managing their traceability.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Skilled in leading workshops and engaging stakeholders to gather comprehensive requirements.
  • Writing and Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to develop detailed documentation and manage complex information effectively.
