Client: Pharmaceutical Manufacturer

A role with great growth potential, starting by managing the cost accounting system, analyzing and reporting on financial data, overseeing inventory, supporting audits, and improving accounting procedures. The role is in a dynamic and growing industry.

MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or similar field
  • At least 3 years of experience in general accounting and/or cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to costing in MRP systems

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and manage the organization's cost accounting system, including all related documents and records.
  • Evidence of using SAP or similar ERP system, Proficient in MS-Office
  • Analyze trends in costs and variances, investigate significant discrepancies, and suggest suitable actions.
  • Conduct analyses of manufacturing costs and regularly produce reports that compare standard costs with actual production costs.
  • Engage actively in meetings related to new product development.
  • Estimate costs for new and proposed products.
  • Prepare monthly inventory reports and evaluate inventory reserve needs in collaboration with the Supply Chain team.
  • Oversee quarterly or bi-annual inventory audits, prepare related reports, and reconcile inventory results for management review.
  • Support the annual review and update of standard costs, including labor and overhead rates.
  • Execute month-end closing procedures as required.
  • Ensure the accuracy, reasonableness, and proper documentation of inventory account balances through general ledger account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Align engineering budgeted production standards with QuickBooks data.
  • Facilitate the work of external and internal auditors during semi-annual and annual audits and according to the internal audit schedule.
  • Work with other accounting staff to evaluate and enhance accounting systems and procedures, and provide training on new or revised processes.
  • Offer assistance to the accounts
