JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst will analyze past financial performance to predict future performance and to advise the company on its financial strategy.  

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Experience: Two years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst OR valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certificate with at least one year of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
  • Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in big data analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of project management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Prior government accounting experience a plus.


CORE DUTIES/ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Facilitate Annual Operating Plan process.
  • Create and maintain forecast monthly.
  • Prepare monthly budget to actual financial reports with KPIs and other metrics.
  • Work with accounting team to investigate monthly flux analysis.
  • Prepare monthly vendor expense analysis by GL account.
  • Creates financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision making.
  • Perform post award analysis of all awarded task orders and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with Director of FP&A to manage weekly Task Order bid and pricing process.
  • Analyzes industry trends and makes recommendations based on those trends.
  • Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects.  Flexible and able to work with various personalities.  Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
