Miami Children's Museum is looking for a new Theater Teacher to join their team This position will be reporting to Liberty City Elementary in Liberty City, FL. One day out of the weekly schedule, this position will be reporting to Goulds Elementary in Homestead, FL, meaning reliable transportation is required.
The Theater Teacher will play a pivotal role in enriching children's creativity and broadening their exposure to diverse theatrical traditions and cultures through theater-based learning. By conducting sessions twice or four times a week at each school, Theater Teacher will help develop students' theatrical skills while fostering social, reading, and emotional proficiencies. This position emphasizes the use of conscious discipline methodologies to create a supportive and empowering learning environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Teach theater etiquette, acting techniques, and reading scripts.
• Strong theatrical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in classroom management
• Run technical aspects of theatrical shows (light, sound, and audio/visual cues).
• Help create and develop original theatrical shows for the community.
• Assist with the creation of props and set pieces.
• Attend meetings and participate in Museum training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, Acting, Theater, Education, or similar.
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in the performing arts industry
- Experience working with children.
- Reliable transportation and valid Driver's License.
- Bilingual is preferred.
