Customer Care Representative
Artful Home is looking for a team player, who appreciates what we do, to join our Customer Care team in Madison, WI. The successful candidate will provide effective customer service for all internal and external customers by establishing a working relationship and using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs as well as communicating the message effectively through phone, email, and chat messages.
Responsibilities Include:
- Focuses on Artful Home's Vision and Guiding Principles. Considers the best interest of Artful Home and its team members, artists, and customers, while performing job duties.
- Contributes to an environment in which all team members are respected and included regardless of their individual differences and feel motivated to improve individual and work area contributions to achieve desired business results.
- Answers incoming phone calls, and also interacts with customers by email, or live chat.
- Resolves product or service problems by listening to customers and clarifying their concerns, determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
- Receives and processes orders, returns and exchanges, calculates charges, and processes billing or payments.
- Provides artwork, apparel, ornament, artisan food, and service information for customers; and takes advantage of opportunities to upsell products when they arise.
- Acts as a liaison between customers and artists regarding information, special requests and customer orders. Confers with the warehouse to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments and provides general shipping and order support for artists.
- Enters all required information into the computer systems and maintains and verifies accurate customer records, mailings and other documents as required.
- Prepares all assigned reports, statistics, and correspondences accurately and on time.
- Participates in department's teams and tasks as assigned.
- Supports and assists other departments with special projects and tasks.
- Enhances the organization's success by accepting ownership of new tasks and opportunities and adding value through individual and team accomplishments.
- Participates in onsite and virtual team and organizational meetings and training sessions as scheduled, which may be recorded for communication and training purposes. The use of computer video cameras is required due to remote work opportunities.
- Maintains current in knowledge areas related to this position through continuing education, subscriptions, certifications, and memberships; and develops a thorough working knowledge of area methods, productivity, and quality.
- The majority of the work may be done remotely; however, travel to the International office in Madison is required as instructed and scheduled.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Overtime as required.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Ability to make responsible decisions, use good judgement and problem solve to include identifying and defining problems, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Ability to quickly adapt to, and work in, a fast-paced environment with a service driven mindset.
- Ability to effectively deal with stressful situations and calmly deal with the issues that arise.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and ensure accuracy.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently and professionally deal with customers and artists over the phone the vast majority of the work shift.
- Demonstrates strong computer skills and a solid knowledge of and experience with core operating systems, Microsoft products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs.
- Ability to quickly learn and use software and application tools; and motivation to engage in ongoing and in-depth learning.
- Demonstrates safe and quality conscious work habits. Complies with policies, procedures, regulations, and laws to protect Artful Home's interests.
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Two (2) or more years of related experience, particularly exposure to a retail environment is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
