Anne Arundel Urology is the premier urologic specialty medical practice in Annapolis Maryland and surrounding areas and is growing We are currently looking for a compassionate and tech savvy RN or LPN who is interested in learning and practicing the fascinating specialty of urodynamic testing in our Greenbelt and Annapolis locations. Urodynamic tests are used to diagnose the cause and assist in the treatment of patients with urinary incontinence and other lower tract urinary symptoms. The tests look at how well the bladder, sphincters, and urethra are storing and releasing urine and are performed on both men and women.
Additionally, this position will also be required to provide compassionate, sensitive, and knowledgeable patient teaching on topics such as self-catheterization, timed voiding, proper bladder and skin hygiene, and indwelling catheter care.
This will initially be a part-time position but is expected to become a full-time position in the near future; interested candidates must be open to full-time work as patient volumes increase. We are willing to train the ideal candidate. A strong hospital-based med-surg background is a plus. Training for this position will take place in Annapolis; once trained the main location for this position will be in our Greenbelt MD clinic.
Responsibilities
Once trained, the urodynamic testing / patient education RN will manage her / his own schedule of patients for whom testing and education is ordered. She/ he will administer the tests, and provide results and data to the ordering physicians as well as provide and document patient education and follow-up. This position enjoys a large degree of autonomy and the successful candidate will see her / him self as a part of a collaborative team of clinicians that treat very personal and life impacting conditions.

• Proven experience as a registered nurse or LPN
• Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of emergency care
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Responsible and compassionate
• Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
• BLS
• Valid nursing license
