Description


Job Description: The Service Technician has a wide variety of skills and can work through complex problems. This person installs, maintains & repairs fuel dispensers; submersible fuel pumps; service station site controllers; credit card readers; cash register consoles; pumping PCW; tank & line monitoring equipment; various other types of equipment found in service stations, convenience gas stations, and bulk plants.


Job Duties:


  • Observes, analyzes, and determines action for service and repair of equipment.
  • Performs repairs and schedules maintenance on equipment. 
  • Responsible for maintaining tools required for performing the job effectively and safely.
  • Perform break fixes and preventative maintenance on service station electronics, computers, and fuel dispensing systems, including electronic, plumbing, and mechanical work. 
  • Install new equipment following repair, test operation, and adjust, as necessary.
  • Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Reassemble equipment following repair, test operation, and adjust, as necessary.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Record details of repairs made, and parts used.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Will be required to travel as needed.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Must have a High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree).
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to travel with the occasional overnights.
  • Must be able to work in all-weather types.
  • Must be able to lift 100+ lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical and drug test.
  • Electrical knowledge and excellent mechanical abilities.



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Familiarity with computer operations and an aptitude for learning computer skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical, fuel, electrical, and construction or related repair work. Ability to operate mechanical equipment and machines as described.
