POSITION SUMMARY:
The Consumer Loan Underwriter is responsible for the decision of direct and indirect loans in accordance with Cascade Federal Credit Union (CFCU) policy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Process and underwrite consumer loans, including personal, auto, home improvement, credit card in accordance with credit union policy and standards.
- Collaborate effectively with branch personnel to ensure that loan applications are fully completed, the necessary supporting documentation is received, and the loan closes as scheduled.
- Approve consumer loans within authorized limits and communicate decisions to branch personnel and/or members.
- Disburse loan checks and related information to members if applicable.
- Ensure loan documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with credit union policy.
- Provide information concerning policies, rates, payment schedules, and other loan related information to internal/external members.
- Proficient at pipeline management with an emphasis on organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Serve as a resource on consumer products/services of CFCU; respond to internal and external loan related member questions & research.
- Participate in department and/or strategic projects as directed.
- Performs other related and unrelated duties as requested and therefore required.
- Distribute incoming online applications to appropriate branches.
- Review incoming dealer documents and verify all information is provided.
- Enter member information into loan records.
- Manage lending department shipping and reconciliation of GL’s.
- Upload rate sheet to CUDL admin site.
- SAFE Act Compliance, MLO registration.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED; 2+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with fair lending practices and understanding of Fair Credit Reporting and lending industry guidelines.
Valid National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) Registration.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
TRAVEL:
No travel is expected for this position.
