Are you an experienced Game Master/Dungeon Master with a flair for improvisation and a passion for team-building?

QuestWorks is seeking charismatic, empathetic, and fun individuals to join our team as freelance Quest Guides. As a Quest Guide, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to unite, inspire, and optimize remote agency (digital and creative) teams through the power of role-playing games.

About QuestWorks: At QuestWorks, we specialize in creating unforgettable, fully-remote, beginner-friendly role-playing game experiences designed to boost team morale, develop soft skills, and forge lasting bonds. Our games are completely improvised, deeply collaborative, and designed to challenge problem-solving skills while creating unforgettable shared adventures. Our unique approach to team-building is lively, engaging, and uniquely effective, providing a refreshing alternative to traditional corporate bonding activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead remote role-playing game sessions for creative teams, ensuring an engaging and fun experience for all participants.
• Improvise scenarios based on player input and adapt to the dynamic needs of the group, keeping the adventure exciting and relevant while applying rules fairly.
• Focus on the players, ensuring they are the stars of the adventure, and create a positive and inclusive environment where all players feel comfortable and encouraged to participate.
• Utilize insights from client team leadership to guide player groups toward specific professional development and team-building outcomes.
• Use your charisma and humor to captivate and entertain players, making each session a memorable adventure.
• Create detailed environmental descriptions on the spot, leveraging your narrative creativity and creative writing experience.
• Showcase strong storytelling skills to weave compelling narratives that engage and inspire players.
• Empathize with players, understanding their needs and adjusting the game accordingly to ensure a rewarding experience for everyone.

Successful applicants will undergo a paid training program to prepare for their role as a Quest Guide.

Requirements

• Experience: At least five years of Game Master/Dungeon Master experience is required.
• Improv Skills: Strong improvisational skills are a must. You must feel comfortable being a weirdo with complete strangers.
• Team Building: Experience in leading team-building activities is highly desirable.
• Theater/Voice Acting: Experience in theater or voice acting is ideal.
• Creative Writing: Strong narrative creativity and creative writing experience.
• Storytelling: Strong storytelling skills to create immersive and engaging adventures.
• Personality Traits: Charismatic, magnetic, empathetic, thoughtful, funny, and fun.
• Communication: Desire and ability to engage with people all day.
• RPG Systems: Experience with D&D 5e is not necessary—experience with PbtA and other flexible, rules-lite RPG systems preferred.
• Technical Setup: Must have a reliable internet connection, an HD webcam, and a suitable environment for conducting remote sessions.
