Job responsibilities include producing and optimizing graphics for well-known brands, converters and printers ensuring visual quality and consistency to the highest quality standards. The Prepress Technician will accurately revise artwork based on brand and print expectations, while adhering to ever-changing deadlines and production schedules. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work on multiple designs for multiple customers at any given time and demonstrate strong attention to detail.

This position requires a daily commute to our office located in Neenah, Wisconsin and is not eligible for remote employment.

Essential Functions

  • Edit supplied files or create artwork files to meet customer expectations, press specifications, and production requirements.
  • Collect, read, and understand provided information from the job ticket, instructions, notes, and email while questioning completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Utilize content management tools for retrieving and referencing images and files.
  • Prepare files for digital, online, and analog proofing and printing devices.
  • Must follow standard operating procedures and practices to insure consistent and uniform quality of files.
  • Ability to complete work accurately in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work as a team player who enjoys a collaborative deadline-driven environment with a superior focus on detail.
  • Preflight supplied files using appropriate software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Perform manual file trapping in Adobe Illustrator CC.
  • Perform quality control on other Prepress Technician work.
  • Regular attendance.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates Degree, 2 year college or technical school, or Work Equivalent. Field of Study: Graphic Arts related field.
  • 2 plus years of experience in prepress processes and systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator CC, and Esko AE Pilot Software required.
  • Knowledge of both Mac & PC platforms and of font identification and software.
  • Intermediate understanding of printing and/or packaging methods. Basic understanding of flexographic printing and graphics.
  • Ability to convert Adobe Illustrator design elements (vignettes, transparencies) to flexographic production ready files.
