SUMMARY

The primary responsibility for this position is to:

  • Assist with wet chemistry analysis
  • Assist with dishing wet chemistry samples as needed
  • Daily operating and maintenance of the equipment and feed and forage preparation
  • This position requires strict adherence to testing protocols and quality control

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for general wet chemistry samples as needed
  • Responsible for dishing (weighing up) wet chemistry samples as needed
  • Responsible for Feed and Forage mineral prep
  • Responsible for analysis and preparation of any samples that cannot be prepped in the back room
  • Responsible for disposing of chemicals properly
  • Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and chemicals needed for analysis

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Keeps current on lab methods and procedures
  • Helps maintain equipment and overall cleanliness of the wet chemistry lab
  • Reports errors, abnormalities of equipment failure/malfunctions immediately to supervisor
  • Helps with other duties and analysis as assigned by supervisor

  • Basic laboratory equipment

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous lab experience or familiar with lab environment (preferred, but will train the right person)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is performed largely in a laboratory environment with moderate noise level
  • Will be exposed to strong smells of various nature at times
  • There may be occasions when the work environment is stressful
  • Work schedule will normally be Monday through Friday. Occasionally these hours may vary depending on the customer's needs
  • Must wear personal protective equipment
