Janitor Technician

Job Overview:
The Janitor Technician will be responsible for the general cleaning and sanitization of multiple buildings
and keeping each area maintained in good condition. The technician will ensure the interior, exterior,
and all areas of the buildings are sanitary and free of trash and debris. They will implement setups and
takedowns for a wide variety of events and activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General cleaning of the buildings and keeping all areas maintained and in good condition.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, polishes and vacuum floors (including hallways, stairs, and office
spaces).
Collects and disposes of trash in garbage containers in offices and parking lots.
Notifies management concerning the need for major repairs or additions to lighting and
ventilating equipment.
Replenishes and accurately records the use of janitorial supplies.
Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker
rooms and other work areas.
Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
Dusts furniture and equipment.
Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Set up, arrange, and remove items such as tables, chairs,and related objects similar to prepare
facilities for events , meetings and activities.
Sets up tables and chairs in the temple, classrooms, and throughout all buildings as needed.
Provides cleaning services during events.
Completes work in conformance to OSHA/ANSI and KJM standards with proper PPE.
Available to work overtime and for on-call duties when assigned.
Reports all work that was completed, pending, or any new and pending issues in an end-of-day
report.
Works with a contract cleaning service when necessary.
Ensure doors are locked after hours.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Professional Qualifications:
Able to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish fluently.
Able to reason and solve practical problems.
Accountable and punctual in attendance.
Must be able to adapt to changes in the department and meet demands.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills and work well with other team members.
Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
Works with integrity and ethically showing to be dependable.
Able to lift and/ or move up to 50-100 lbs and work in environments exposed to wet or humid
conditions related and unrelated to weather.
Certificates and Licenses:
OSHA Safety and Health Specialist Certificate (Prefered)
Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP) (Prefered)
Custodial Technician Certification (Prefered)
Biohazard Cleanup (Prefered)

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to two years related experience
and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Commercial cleaning or janitorial experience (Preferred)
