OVERVIEW

DeSales University, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, is a Catholic, private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts university. Founded by the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales in 1964, the 550-acre suburban campus is located about 50 miles north of Philadelphia and 90 miles southwest of New York City.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director will be responsible for working with the Director to implement high-quality programming for Teacher Education students at all levels-undergraduate, Adult Studies, and graduate. The role of Assistant Director requires excellent collaboration and communication skills in order to work closely with faculty and staff in the School of Education. In addition, the Assistant Director will oversee office logistics and be the contact liaison with departments across campus. The Assistant Director will prioritize work on enrollment and recruitment and supporting the student experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree preferred
  • PA Teacher Certification preferred
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • 2-3 years of related experience in a K-12 educational setting or higher education environment
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database programs
  • Possess and be able to use math skills to provide accurate data collection and analysis
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Occasional attendance at School functions outside of standard work hours
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, balance competing responsibilities, and complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, ability and diversity
  • Dedicated to the mission of a small, Catholic, liberal arts institution
