SUMMARY:

Thisis a split shift position, hours are 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm reporting to the Lab Manager The position is 100% onsite. This position performs analysis on waste samples per our waste analysis plan and waste control plan. The tasks of this individual will include, but is not limited to:

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prepares samples to be analyzed via scientific instruments

· Performs QC on instruments in the lab

· Performs daily housekeeping duties

· Disposes of waste samples

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education

Minimum High School Diploma/GED

Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills
  • Organized approach and attention to details
  • Proficient reading, writing and math skills
  • Knowledge of chemistry as it relates to other chemicals and health and safety

· Problem solving ability DOT, RCRA, and HAZCOM training is a plus, but not required for employment. Training will be provided annually to all employees

· Must be able to wear applicable PPE in compliance with EH&S guidelines.

· Must be able to pass background check, pre-employment drug screening, and pulmonary screening required for respirator use.

· Requires weekend and possible 10-hour shifts when production permits.

Additional Desired Skills, Education and Experience:

· College degree in Science field preferred

· Lab experience preferred but OJT provided

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

· Working knowledge of Windows

· General working knowledge of bomb calorimeters, gas chromatographs, automatic titrators, pH meters, flash point testers, manual titrations, and simple distillation apparatus

· Follow directions.

· Follow all safety rules.
