Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare drawings using computer-aided design software under the direct supervision of engineers, designers and technicians
  • Create structural models and drawings in MicroStation from engineering sketches and verbal description
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • CAD-related AS Degree (preferred), or equivalent work experience as structural CAD Technician (building information modeling)
  • Proficiency with MicroStation or OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to think creatively and visualize in 3D
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently as necessary for a wide variety of projects
  • Possess analytical and organizational skills to support multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to learn, listen, adapt, and take ownership of work
  • Attention to detail, self-directed learning, and meeting deadlines  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate work with other disciplines and production staff
