Emerald Therapy Center is looking for a TMS Technician and Toxicology Screener to join our compassionate team of medical professionals. Dr. Ballew introduced TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) technology to Paducah, offering a non-medicated treatment option for OCD and Major Depression for the first time. Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Administrative tasks including but not limited to answering phone calls, calling patients, and scheduling appointments.
  • Use our electronic medical record (EMR) system to document patient contacts and treatment.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow guidelines of HIPAA.
  • Establish a schedule for random testing and make the schedule available to all potential referral agencies.
  • Maintain inventory and assist with supply orders.
  • Fill out all required paperwork and logs associated with the client’s toxicology test.
  • Greet clients and treat them with respect as they present for testing. Accompany clients from the waiting area to the drug testing location.
  • Conduct toxicology testing in accordance with Emerald Policies and Procedures, including obtaining samples, recording results, and preparing samples for confirmation testing as required, ensuring chain of custody procedures are observed at all times.
  • Report any notable information to circumstances to Emerald clinical or supervisory staff and/or management, including any behavioral problem that may arise. Ensure appropriate documentation of any instances requiring reports to clinical or supervisory staff.
  • Prepare samples for sample pick-up and shipment in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with the Emerald team and staff, as well as persons, agencies, and other entities with whom Emerald has a working relationship, and specifically for agency customers of this service.
  • Assist with routine maintenance of drug testing paperwork and any necessary equipment or supplies, ensuring the testing area is clean and maintained in good order.
  • Provide other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Assists with laboratory tests of varying complexity using standard procedures on human specimens for the purpose of providing information for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease.
  • Analyze the results of tests or experiments to ensure conformity to specifications, using special mechanical or electrical devices.
  • Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment.
  • May run proficiency testing samples on equipment per SOPs.
  • Follow laboratory procedures for sample management, test analyses, quality control, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results, compliance, and documentation and testing of proficiency testing samples.
  • Assists with CLIA waived testing.
  • Maintains laboratory records and inventory for supplies and reagents. Notifies appropriate staff when inventory is too low.
  • With assistance, may troubleshoot equipment problems and coordinate service as necessary. Documents all equipment maintenance, both routine and trouble-shooting.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and lab environment.
  • Remain up-to-date and compliant on all required and assigned training related to laboratory safety and testing procedure and equipment maintenance.
  • Follow established treatment and office procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with all staff.
  • Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients

Additionally, Candidates Must: 

  • Posses a basic understanding of substance abuse, behavioral health, and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • Have a desire and ability to interact maturely and professionally with those facing substance use and behavioral health disorders in a trauma-informed manner.
  • Be trained and demonstrate competency in agency drug testing protocols and procedures.

Education:

  • Associate (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma Required
