We are seeking a Manager of QA & Testing to join our team at GMSTEK, based in Miami, Florida. This managerial role will oversee quality assurance and testing activities across multiple projects, with a focus on enhancing testing processes and ensuring product quality. The successful candidate will lead a QA team of 3-6 members, collaborate extensively with multiple departments, and contribute to strategic QA planning. This position is integral to a government contract, requiring a high level of security and compliance standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the QA team, managing quality assurance activities for various projects.
- Work as part of cross-functional and agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the product development process from requirements definition to delivery.
- Lead the definition, implementation and documentation of test plans aligned with project needs and functional requirements.
- Define and implement automation tools to perform functional and non-functional testing.
- Designing, developing and supporting frameworks for our test infrastructure and providing automation expertise to our development teams.
- Develop and execute automated and manual regression and feature tests to ensure the software meets requirements.
- Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team while also generating, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions to solve them.
- Documenting and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test results.
- Defining and driving innovative testing strategies and toolsets into our overall product development processes to improve quality.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the IT Manager and the Project Manager regarding all testing needs and QA processes.
- Work closely with our development team to define, implement and run a comprehensive Azure DevOps strategy for our different projects and applications.
- Work closely with the Information Security team to define and Implement security testing strategies and tools to meet security standards and compliance requirements.
- Define, implement and lead User Acceptance Testing plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Software testing experience.
- Must have a clear understanding about the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Significant experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience analyzing requirements, User Stories, Change Requests, production bugs.
- Must have experience and understanding of the software test processes from planning to release and maintenance.
- Experience creating Test Plans and executing manual tests.
- Extensive experience creating and executing automated test scripts based on test cases using tools like Selenium, Katalon, Jest, etc.
- Experience with BDD Tools like SpecFlow, Cucumber.
- Experience performing API testing using Postman, Katalon, etc .
- Experience designing and implementing load and stress tests.
- Experience identifying, reporting, and managing defects, errors, bugs etc.
- Knowledge and experience working with project management tools like Jira or Azure Boards.
- Must be able to write SQL queries.
- An understanding of web applications written with .Net Framework and C#, HTML, and CSS is highly desired.
- ISTQB certification is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to government contract requirements.
- Must be willing to undergo a comprehensive background check.

- Reduction in bugs and defects in released software.
- Enhanced productivity and performance of the QA team.
Location:
- This position is based in Miami, Florida. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate, as occasional office visits are required.
