Position Summary

A Plating Operator sets up, operates, and tends the plating or coating machines to coat metal with zinc, to protect or decorate surfaces. Includes electrolytic processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensures the proper operation of the plating by monitoring equipment and entering the correct data into the touch screen system and on the Plating Log as required.

  • Ensures that parts are not mixed together by purging the machine based on the checkpoint maps and recording information to the straggler check sheets.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Basic Computer Skills

Preferred:

  • ISO / TS 16949 Training

  • Knowledge of Safety and OSHA requirements

  • Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment and in a Plating or Coating Department – preferably in a Fastener Industry

  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.

  • Ability to continuously stand and move through 12-hour shifts.

  • Perform physical activities that require the use body to lift, walk, climb steps, and handle materials up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Working with the plating team, reviewing quality and process improvements within the chemical process

  • Performs tasks in a variety of maintenance & repair areas, and may be assigned other duties not listed above

  • Prioritized, Organize, and accomplish work efficiently

  • Move quickly from task to task with minimal errors and/or omissions

  • 100% onsite. One work location.
