Join the NetSec Platform Experience team as a Sr Principal UX Designer, driving innovation throughout the product lifecycle. As a leader of a fantastic team, you'll revolutionize interactions, demonstrating a self-starting attitude and collaborative spirit. Ideal candidates possess a keen eye for clean design, advocate for customers, and create simple user experiences from complex workflows. We prioritize user experience, leveraging insights to inform product strategy. Our passionate, cross-functional teams collaborate to craft intuitive, innovative, and beloved products.
Your Impact
- Embark on a groundbreaking initiative in AI/ML model exploration, development, and deployment
- Led high-stakes design projects, providing clarity to complex challenges, fostering innovation, and defining, developing, and socializing designs that encouraged big thinking without compromising delivery speed
- Work cross-functionally to drive elegant design solutions from early concept through final implementation and iteration
- Instill a customer-centric design culture by sharing best practices, evangelizing design principles, and influencing product strategy
- Utilize data and customer insights to confidently share design solutions with senior leaders, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Able to visualize how your understanding of technical constraints and opportunities inform design solutions
- Use systems-level design thinking to drive design solutions that scale
- Present design work to executive leadership and other senior stakeholders
Your Experience
- Proven leadership in guiding digital conversational experiences for both voice and text, bringing AI technologies to market
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in ideation, interaction, and visual design - Proficient in Figma and prototyping, with a portfolio demonstrating shipping of highly interactive, engaging, and industry-leading products
- Dedicated to data-driven, user-centered design for outstanding customer experiences and anticipating user needs
- Holistic thinker, understanding system-wide perspectives and product ecosystems, presenting a comprehensive design view across channels
- Proactively seeks collaboration, feedback, and cross-functional partnerships with openness, curiosity, and a growth mindset
- Advanced grasp of AI technologies, covering NLP, basic machine learning principles, and broader capabilities, coupled with technical understanding for effective collaboration with engineers, architects, and AI/ML practitioners in both strategic and tactical discussions
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- Career level experience in designing, developing, and leading industry-leading AI/ML products
- Entrepreneurial, adept at navigating ambiguity, and skilled at scaling new products or services from the ground up
- Proven ability to translate research insights into intuitive, appealing designs that resonate with users
- Experience working for an Enterprise SaaS high-growth company, reimagining customer experiences
- Proficient in design systems and adept at evolving component libraries for cohesive and scalable design
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices
- Front-end programming
- Familiarity with Cloud Platforms
- Familiarity with Cybersecurity

Additional Information
The Team
Our team is responsible for the strategy, definition, and design execution of new products and services. We are a small dynamic team of researchers and strategists who are on the cutting-edge of design research practices so you’ll have the opportunity to wear many hats, explore new skills, build culture and practice and have a front seat to our formative product decisions. You will work side-by-side with UX designers and the product management team, as well as engineers.
Many of the products you work on are new to Palo Alto Networks, so you are entrepreneurial and hands-on while helping to craft a vision and being a key member to execute on that vision.
We contribute to Palo Alto Networks being the fastest growing cybersecurity company in the world by understanding the evolution of cyberattacks and designing products to keep users safer and more secure.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $153,000/yr to $247,500/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
