Position Overview:
As a Tax Manager at Wilson Toellner CPA, you'll play a leadership role in our tax department, leading our tax team in providing comprehensive tax services to our valued clients. You will manage complex tax situations, offer strategic tax planning, and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and review of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
- Conduct in-depth research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Provide advanced tax planning and consulting services to clients.
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional service and strategic guidance.
- Manage IRS and state tax authority audits and inquiries.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, and communicate their impact to clients and the team.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement comprehensive financial and tax solutions for clients.
- Lead and participate in continuing education to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
- Manage annual accounting cleanup and data entry projects.
- Mentor and develop junior tax staff, providing guidance and support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or EA certification required.
- 5+ years of experience in tax preparation and planning, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and client relationship skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team.
