Senior Buyer

Position Description:

The Sr. Buyer is responsible for the purchase of items through suppliers, monitoring and expediting orders and negotiating costs. This position will oversee the activities and performance of vendors and suppliers in alignment with overall business needs and performance. The Procurement Agent will ensure that all established purchasing polies and procedures are optimized in regards to price, delivery and contract terms.

Key Responsibilities:

• HSSEE – Actively support the implementation and maintenance of the company's HSSEE and Quality Management Systems – company's Integrated Management Systems (SIMS).
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Support NPI projects by finding suppliers, cost, and availability of materials.
• Performs vendor management activities such as vendor adding/changing, vendor qualifications and vendor performance management.
• Takes ownership of assigned categories by obtaining, analyzing, and sharing supply market information, understanding business needs, developing category strategies, driving, and reporting improvements in cost, quality, and service.
• Works as the first level escalation point for supplier- related issues. Creates and follows through SCARs whenever needed.
• Maintains business records such as RMSS, quotes/bids, contract/agreements, and important communications and makes it accessible to authorized users
• Reviews and approves invoices.
• Drives for continuous improvement in procurement process by following, advocating, and creating procedures and policies.
• Provides support to other businesses functions as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply chain or Procurement
• 3 – 5 years in procurement or materials management

Performance:

Performance of incumbent is measured according to the accuracy of purchasing duties, special projects, and coordination of maintenance operations, compliance, timeliness, and effectiveness of decisions and recommendations. These results are discussed during meetings with the Global Procurement Manager and documented in the annual performance review.
