Job DescriptionJob Description

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Quality, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week on an assigned shift schedule with some overtime when necessary. Salary will be based on experience.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Use approved chemicals to clean and disinfect surfaces according to food manufacturing requirements.
  • Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble food processing equipment.
  • Record daily activities on company issued documentation.
  • Dispose of waste throughout manufacturing facility
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Stock cleaning and sanitation supplies.
  • Report potential risks and opportunities to manager.
  • Adhere to and support all FDA, FSSC, Organic, and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Support food manufacturing operations as needed.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English).
  • Work independently and as a team to complete tasks.
  • Work effectively on several projects concurrently and with constant deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to perform physical work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Ability to drive forklift, and use typical material handling tools, lifts, hand trucks etc. Ability to organize work, establish priorities, and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of related sanitation experience
  • Experience in manufacturing/production
