SUMMARY
Technical and documentation support for Microbiology lab.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes but not limited to the following.
- Logs on incoming samples of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products in logbook and e-files.
· Prepares test samples for microbiological analyses utilizing aseptic techniques.
· Prepares and sterilizes standard microbiological cultural media.
· Accurately documents and maintains necessary paper and electronic data records.
· Maintains proper labeling, handling and storage of microbiological supplies, media, and reagents.
· Maintains proper labeling, handling and storage of microbiological retain samples.
· Operates general laboratory equipment such as an autoclave, pipet machine, incubator, analytical scales etc.
· Housekeeping duties as assigned to maintain cleanliness.
· Maintains proper labeling, handling, storage, and disposal of microbiological waste.
· Manages time and tasks efficiently.
· Other duties may be assigned as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Association degree (AA) in a scientific discipline from community or four-year college; High School diploma with two/three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, procedures, and manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from departmental manager/supervisor or other employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as well as percentage determination.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Docs and Google Spreadsheets, Database software.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles (herbal powders). The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
